Detalle de: Maintenance of the subtropical fruit crop collections at the IHSM La Mayora: cherimoya and avocado

The main objective of this proposal is the conservation, maintenance and documentation of germplasm bank of cherimoya and other fruit trees in the Annonaceae in the IHSM La Mayora. This is the germplasm bank of reference for this species worldwide and can ensure a proper conservation of the cherimoya genetic diversity present in different countries. Following the evaluation report received in the previous project, we include also the avocado collection due to its strategic value since this is the only germplasm collection of this species in Continental Europe and the main subtropical fruit crop in the Iberian Peninsula.
