Detalle de: VP3.15 TREATMENT IMPROVES BRAIN ATROPHY AND PROMOTES NEUROREGENERATION IN A MURINE MODEL OF GERMINAL MATRIX-INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGE OF THE PRETERM NEWBORN

Title VP3.15 TREATMENT IMPROVES BRAIN ATROPHY AND PROMOTES NEUROREGENERATION IN A MURINE MODEL OF GERMINAL MATRIX-INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGE OF THE PRETERM NEWBORN
Abstract

Germinal matrix intraventricular hemorrhage (GM-IVH) is one of the most severe neuropathological complications associated with prematurity and it has no successful treatment. Preterm newborns (PT) that suffer GM-IVH commonly develop short and long-term motor, cognitive and behavioral impairments. Previous studies have shown the neuroprotective role of the dual glycogen synthase kinase 3β and phosphodiesterase inhibitor, VP3.15, in other neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders. Therefore, we have analyzed the effects of treatment with VP3.15 in a murine model of GM-IVH that mimics brain pathology and cognitive impairment observed in patients.
