Serolog~cal and molecular properties of 2 birnavlruses Isolated from Norwegian turbot Scophthalmus rnaxlmus were examined.The viral RNA and polypept~des patterns, as well as neutral~zation test results, showed that these stralns were closely related to infectious pancreat~c necrosls vlrus, serotype VR-299.Infectivity trials indicated no patho-genic~ty for turbot.This is the first isolation in Europe of VR-299, the common North American virus s t r a ~n of lPNV |
