| Abstract |
The Mediterranean fruit fly Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae), is one of the most devastating pests of fruits and vegetables worldwide and a key pest of citrus and other fruits in the Mediterranean countries, including Tunisia. Pachycrepoideus vindemmiae is a cosmopolitan species widely distributed through the world and it has been recorded fromTunisia, where it is a parasitoid of drosophilid species (Diptera: Drosophilidae). There has been no previous record of native C. capitata in Tunisia. As an early result of our search programme the first occurrence of P. vindemmiae parasitizing pupae of C. capitata is reported here. |
