Detalle de: Epigenetic Complexes in Plant Immunity
| Title | Epigenetic Complexes in Plant Immunity |
| Description |
[EN] It has been known for nearly a century that plants can develop immunity to viruses that they have previously encountered. Plants, however, do not have distinct mobile immune cells like animals. Understanding the process of adaptive immunity in plants is critical for translational research and applications. We combine classical virology techniques, with genetics, molecular biology and systems biology to identify plant immunity genes that are subjected to chromatin regulation during the infection. Those genes can usually recall previous stress events and be primed for a quicker response against subsequent environmental stimuli. The edition of chromatin marks in selected candidates may open new interesting and innovative biotechnological tools to engineer pathogen resistant plants. |
