Title Microbiology of Agroforestry Ecosystems
Description

[EN] The research of the group is focused on obtaining basic and applied knowledge about beneficial interactions between plants and microorganisms of interest in agricultural and forestry systems. That is to say, those microorganisms that promote plant growth, protect them against pathogens, provide nutrients to plants, etc. Therefore, the study of the plant microbiome, both external to the root and endophytic, constitutes the core on which the research we do is based by approaches of high-throughput sequencing. Our work on root microbiome, considering the pool plant-microbiome as a holobiont, covers both agriculture, like our research on the role of olive root microbiome on verticillium wilt tolerance/sensitivity; and environment, like the research on the role of root microbiome on holm-oak recovery after a wildfire or the resilience of pines and Pyrenean oak to climate change. Our final objective is to contribute to the maintenance of natural and agroforestry ecosystems by the management of its associated microbiomes.
