My interest in bioinformatics started around 2006 just after my PhD in phylogenetics at UCM, when parsing text files became a necessity for me. Since then I have been trying to develop myself as a more complete bioinformatician, and while doing so I had the opportunity to work on projects at the National Blood Service, European Bioinformatics Institute, Sanger Institute, Spanish National Cancer Research Centre, Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research and now University of Santiago de Compostela, where I am Research Associate since April 2025. Previously Senior Bioinformatician at Biome Makers (2022-2024; bioinformatic pipelines for soil microbiome genome analysis) and bioinformatician at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz (2021-2022; gene expression signatures predicting endpoints in targeted drug cancer clinical trials). Note: at the IIBM (CSIC-UAM) from October 2024 to February 2025, as bioinformatician.
