Biography
|
Bioinformatics scientist and postdoctoral research scientist at the Instituto de Agroquímica y Tecnología de Alimentos (IATA-CSIC) since January 2024. He has experience managing several genomics and transcriptomics projects in microorganisms, using NGS in plant health, plant genetics and applications in the agricultural sector, programming in Python and R, and working in UNIX and HPC environments. From 2020 to 2024 he was head of the Bioinformatics Unit at ValGenetics S.L. (Torres Quevedo grant), responsible for genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and metagenomics data analysis and supporting the Plant Genetics and Plant Health department. Previously he was a bioinformatician at the IATA-CSIC (2018-2020), and he did his PhD at the Universitat de València (2015-2020) on whole genome sequencing, comparative genomics, RNA-seq and transcriptome analysis, yeast genomics and protein-protein interactions, with a research stay at Utrecht University (2018) on Saccharomyces interactome analysis and protein-protein interaction modelling. Since 2018 he teaches Introduction to Bioinformatics and Genomics in the Master in R&D in Biotechnology and Biomedicine of the Universitat de València, and he supervises master's projects in the Master in Bioinformatics at the Universitat de València.
