Our group "Genomics of ancient crops and domestication" aims to shed light into plant domestication and crop evolution. We apply population genetics theory and bioinformatics to study genetic variability in crop wild relatives, landraces and modern cultivars, sometimes including ancient DNA as well. In addition to the historical importance that plant domestication had in shaping societies as we know them today, we are also interested in finding the genetic basis of traits of interest that may have an impact in the development of more sustainable and resilient cultivars. Previously Postdoctoral Scientist at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (2017) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stony Brook University (2013-2016, Beatriu de Pinós Fellow from 2014). |
