Service Unit

Detalle de: Bioinformatics Unit at the CABD

Title Bioinformatics Unit at the CABD
Description

The Bioinformatics Unit of the Centro Andaluz de Biología del Desarrollo (CABD) was created to cover the institute's needs in genomic data analysis, training in bioinformatics tools and supervision of general bioinformatics infrastructures. It is funded by the María de Maeztu grant awarded to the CABD by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación.

Its services are organised in three lines, each with its own access protocol and queue:

  • Help Desk: quick questions about statistics, bioinformatics methods and tools, or earlier results, answered by email or in a short meeting.
  • Common Services: standard pipelines for microarray and RNA-seq analysis (differential expression, functional enrichment, PCA, volcano plots), ATAC-seq analysis (peak identification, differential analysis, annotation), and single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq or multiomics (standard 10x pipelines and Loupe Browser files).
  • Personalised Services: other genomic analyses, complex differential designs, meta-analysis and re-analysis of public data, scientific programming (R, Python, bash, pipelines, parallelisation, adaptation to the UPO cluster), custom visualization, data submission to public repositories and custom databases, and custom infrastructures such as Galaxy or RStudio servers.
