Detalle de: Proteomics and Genomics Facility at CIB Margarita Salas

Title Proteomics and Genomics Facility at CIB Margarita Salas
Description

The Proteomics and Genomics Service of the CIB Margarita Salas provides scientific and technological research support to CIB researchers and to researchers from other centres and institutions. Since 2012 the laboratory has been certified under UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 for the determination of molecular mass by mass spectrometry.

Proteomics

Large-scale separation, identification and quantification of proteins in biological samples by proteomic analyses based on multidimensional liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry:

  • Protein separation by one-dimensional electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and colloidal Coomassie Blue staining
  • Molecular mass determination of peptides and proteins (MALDI-TOF)
  • Protein identification in complex mixtures (shotgun proteomics)
  • Label-free relative quantification of protein expression
  • Identification of phosphopeptides from complex protein mixtures
  • Differential quantitative proteomics (isobaric labelling or label-free), post-translational modification analysis and targeted proteomics (SRM/MRM)

Genomics

Tools for basic functional genomics and expression studies:

  • Chip electrophoresis (TapeStation) of RNA, to assess integrity prior to microarray or RT-PCR experiments, and of DNA
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of nucleic acids; real-time PCR
  • Roche Universal Probe Library collection of human genome probes

Data analysis, interpretation and preparation of figures or texts for publication are not part of the standard service and may be arranged as a collaboration.
