Title Scientific Computing at CNB
Description

The Scientific Computing Service of CNB-CSIC cooperates with researchers inside and outside the CNB to perform complex data analyses. It currently provides support in Bioinformatics, NGS, Metabolic Modeling, Structural Biology, Immunoinformatics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

The service can work either through scientific cooperations or on a fee basis; for in-depth, long-term analyses the cooperation approach is recommended.

Scientific offer

The service has decades-long expertise in techniques including:

  • Sequence analysis, metagenomics, DNA-seq, RNA-seq, proteomics and pangenomics
  • Protein structure prediction (ab initio and modelling)
  • Molecular mechanics and dynamics (all-atom and coarse-grain), docking and drug screening
  • Quantum mechanics and dynamics
  • Immunoinformatics, vaccine and immunogenicity analyses
  • Systems biology, GSMN development and dynamic, adaptive FBA-based metabolic models
  • Programming in several languages (C/C++, Fortran, Java, Python, Perl, Tcl/Tk, Go, etc.)
  • Advanced statistics and artificial intelligence/machine learning

It also organises courses on demand in Biostatistics, R programming, AI/ML and Metagenomics, both at CNB and in cooperation with other institutions, hosts national and international (ERASMUS+) interns, and participates in outreach activities.
