Detalle de: The mobilome of the anaerobic methanotrophic archaea Methanoperedenaceae

In this project we investigate the adaptability of microorganisms responsible for mitigating the release of methane, the potent greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere. These microorganisms are distributed worldwide in freshwater sediments and are critically important for the stability of the Earth's climate. We focus on the genetic elements responsible for their ability to adapt rapidly to new conditions. The results will inform models of climate change and the ecology of the complex microbial communities that are so important for agriculture, biotechnology and the environment.
