Paula Martínez García

I am a Computational Biologist 👩‍💻🧬 with a strong background in biotechnology 👩‍🔬 and multi-omics data analysis. Born in Valencia 🌞, I studied Biotechnology at UAB in Barcelona (including an Erasmus at the University of Padova 🇮🇹) and completed a Master’s in Computational Biology at UPM in Madrid🎓.

I currently work at the Biocomputational Analysis Service (SABio, CBMSO) 💻, where I design and implement analysis strategies for large-scale multi-omics datasets, including NGS, proteomics, metabolomics, and integrative omics studies. I provide technical scientific advice 🧪, train research groups 👩‍🔬, develop custom software pipelines 🛠️, and ensure secure management of sensitive biological data 🔒.

I am pursuing a PhD in Molecular Biosciences at UAM 🎓. My research focuses on computational analysis of viral genomic and multi-omic data 🧬 to study the evolution and adaptation of emerging viruses with pandemic potential, contributing to high-impact projects such as Antarctic avian influenza monitoring campaigns ❄️ and international collaborations on MPOX virus evolution 🌐.

I am curious 🔍, decisive under pressure ⚡, and enjoy combining techniques to generate actionable results. I maintain a positive character 😊, collaborate easily 🤝, and balance my career and PhD with interests in sports ⚽🏃, cinema 🎬, literature 📚, and music 🎵, which keep me energized and inspired.
