Detalle de: Biocomputing and Omics Integration Facility (SBIO) at CBM
| Title | Biocomputing and Omics Integration Facility (SBIO) at CBM |
| Description |
The SBIO results from the merger of two former CBM services: the Bioinformatics Service (Analysis and modelling of systems and biomolecules) and the Analysis and Integration of Omics Data facility (Biocomputational Analysis Unit). Both are now service areas of the SBIO. The SBIO (Biocomputing and omics integration facility) centralizes multi-omics data analysis and macromolecular structure modelling into a single facility at the CBM. It is the centre's reference unit dedicated exclusively to supporting bioinformatics, computational biology and data analysis for its research groups and external entities, accompanying researchers throughout the entire data life cycle: experimental design, data analysis, integration of sources, and management and stewardship of results. Service areas:
Transversal support: advice on experimental design and technical reports for grant proposals; data management and stewardship as authorized broker for submissions to ENA and EGA; access to high-performance computing (in-house clusters and CSIC nodes such as NodoBio and DRAGO); and training courses in bioinformatics and statistical tools. The former Bioinformatics Service originated from the Bioinformatics Unit established by Ángel Ramírez Ortiz around 2005. |
