Biography

Technical Supervisor of the Biocomputational Analysis Core Facility at the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (CBM, CSIC-UAM). Her work includes: advice on the design of massive sequencing experiments taking into account the later computational analysis; computational analysis of massive sequencing data (resequencing, de novo assembly, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, CLIP-seq, exome sequencing, 16S, 18S and ITS metagenomics, search for variants and SNPs, detection of alternative splicing events, amplicons, etc.); statistical analysis of experimental data (exploratory analysis, hypothesis testing by parametric and non-parametric methods, robust statistical methods, ANOVA, factorial and principal component analysis), mainly with R; data analysis of microarray experiments; comprehensive analysis of data from diverse sources (genomics, biological, medical, data mining); upload of nucleotide sequences, functional annotation and sequencing reads to repositories such as the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA, EMBL-EBI); programmatic management of genome databases such as Ensembl, GenBank or FlyBase; implementation, maintenance and updating of the Service's own pipelines for massive sequencing data analysis; and development of specialised software on demand in Bash, Tcsh, Python and R, including the computational development of nanopore sequencing experiments with the Oxford Nanopore MinION.
