Tenured Professor at the Department of Statistics of the University of Granada since 2020 and Group Leader of Bioinformatics and Health Data Science at GENYO (Pfizer-University of Granada-Junta de Andalucía Center for Genomics and Oncological Research), where he was previously Head of the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Unit (2013-2020). Founder of the Spanish Society of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (SEBiBC) and member of its board (2020-2025).
