I am a PhD candidate at the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid. I am focused on the study of microbial communities and their relationship with the environment, mainly host-microbiome-environment interactions. I am also interested in the study of biogeographical patterns and evolution of microbial communities from an ecological perspective. I have a great interest in the use of bioinformatics and omics techniques to unveil microbial diversity and functionality. FPU PhD candidate at the MNCN-CSIC since January 2025, studying the microbiome of Antarctic krill, a key species in the Southern Ocean, to describe and understand the microbial diversity harboured by krill as a holobiont and the potential functionality of its associated microbiome. Research stay at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC, 2025) funded by a BCB Hub grant, focused on the Antarctic krill microbiome from a metagenomic perspective. Co-lead of the Junior Researchers group of the CSIC Microbiome Hub (MicrobiomaHub-CSIC) since March 2025, Communications Officer of APECS Spain and member of the Junior Hub of the CSIC Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Connection (BCB).
