Biography

Postdoctoral researcher at the Instituto de Parasitología y Biomedicina López-Neyra (IPBLN-CSIC, Granada), in the "Molecular Genetics of Mobile and Foreign DNA" group (since 2024).

Graduate in Biochemistry (Molecular Biomedicine track) from the University of Granada (2017), she completed the Master in Research and Advances in Microbiology in 2018 and did her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the IPBLN-CSIC, in the "Biological Activity of RNA" group of the Molecular Biology Department, supervised by Dr. Alfredo Berzal Herranz and Dr. Cristina Romero López. Her thesis studied how the structural domains of the 3'UTR of the West Nile virus genome take part in different aspects of its life cycle.

In parallel, she completed a Higher Vocational Training cycle in Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control (2018-2020), held a training grant at the General Services and Flow Cytometry Unit of GENYO (Pfizer-University of Granada-Junta de Andalucía Centre for Genomics and Oncological Research, 2019), and studied the Master in Secondary Education Teaching.

She became interested in science through a research initiation project in secondary school (PIIISA), and participates in outreach activities such as the European Researchers' Night.
