Detalle de: Nutrigenomics and Fish Growth Endocrinology

Title Nutrigenomics and Fish Growth Endocrinology
Description

The research Group of Nutrigenomics is focused on gilthead sea bream, but also deals with studies in other farmed fish species (European sea bass, common dentex, turbot, Senegalese sole, trout). The ultimate goal is to develop new bio-technological tools for the sustainable development and validation of new fish feeds, using safe alternative raw materials and additivies to improve the overall performance and health status of farmed fish, also preserving the nutritive value of marked fish.

Currently, the Nutrigenomics Group participates in 3 European projects of H2020 and Horizon Europe (AQUASERV, AQUAEXCEL3.0 , EatFISH ), and is coordinating the ThinkInAzul programme (2022-2025) in Valencian Community, comprising 39 research groups and a total budget of 10 million euros. In addition, the Group conducts several collaborations with companies of aquafeeds and additives (SPAROS, BioMar, LSAqua) and different National (UB, ULPGC, IRTA) and European (Ifremer, CIIMAR, INRAE, Universitiy of Insubria) Research Groups by means of Projects, contracts or Transnational Accesses.

The average of peer-reviewed publications of the Nutrigenomics Group is 13 SCI publications per year in the last five years (2019-2023), with an annual income of more than 400,000 €. The Group also participates actively in the organization of International Events and Dissemination Workshops aimed at R&D managers and general audiences.
