Detalle de: Peptidomimetics

Title Peptidomimetics
Description

We are a pioneering group in peptidomimetics in Spain, with solid experience in molecular modelling, synthesis in solution and solid phase (peptides/small molecules), as well as in the development of enzyme inhibitors, analgesic mimetics, antitumour agents and neuropeptides. We currently develop modulators of protein-protein interactions and ion channels with therapeutic potential in pain and cardiovascular diseases. We actively contribute to COVID-19 research. We are committed to collaboration with academic groups and companies (Antibióticos, NovoNordisk, PharmaMar, Givaudan, Alodia, Mediczen), and to multidisciplinary training. We participate in initiatives such as COST BM1301, ComFuturo (Fundación General CSIC-MSCA) and the Ramón y Cajal programme (AEI).

Research lines

  • Modulation of protein-protein interactions: inhibitors/stabilizers of interactions involved in cardiovascular processes.
  • Modulation of ion channels: TRP (TRPM8, TRPA1, TRPV1) in inflammatory/neuropathic pain; sodium/potassium channels (Nav1.5, Kv1.5, Kv4.3) in arrhythmias; non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonists.
  • General methodologies: molecular modelling, virtual screening, computational study of mutations, development of versatile synthetic methodologies and generation of secondary structure mimetics.
