[EN] The Theory, Bioinformatics and Computation (TBC) group began as a collaboration between researchers from I2SysBio. The objective of the group is the development and application of mathematical methods to the analysis of large volumes of data of biological interest, including data from genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, interaction networks, and in general any type that, due to its volume and complexity, requires the use of high-performance computing techniques.
The group has experience in studies of the impact of the human microbiome on host health and its temporal evolution and has developed taxonomic classification tools, statistical analysis of temporal variability and modeling of the evolution of the complex system. In addition, the group has conducted relevant research in the field of health genomics, such as tools for visualizing virus insertion sites in the human genome and the implications for gene therapy or the characterization of metabolic pathways with proteomic data.
