Animal genomics · CRAG

Biography

Veterinarian by training with experience on genomics analysis of livestock species and human biomedical research. PhD at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Two postdocs in animal and human genomics at the University of Liege and Kings' College London. 2.5 year experience in technology translation in the frame of animal genomics. Currently working at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics CRAG, on Animal Genomics.

My research expertise resides in the use of structural and functional genomics to decipher the catalogue of polymorphisms causing phenotypic variation in animals, including traits of economic interest in livestock breeding and human health.

At present, most of my research focuses on whole genome sequencing and single cell multiomics (ATAC + RNA) to identify DNA variants with strong potential to affect male reproduction traits in pigs.
